World of Nations - Ireland
During the week of May 26th – 29th, San Jose is celebrating "World of Nations", and our class has picked Ireland as our Country. Each student will participate in this event through "role-playing" as an “expert” for their “specialty” about Ireland’s facts, myths, weather, population, culture, food, etc… Please ask your child to rehearse their part with you so they will become very comfortable with their role. San Jose students from K-5 will become our visitors during this event. Since two classes at a time are scheduled to come, your child will present approximately to 60 people a day. Even though your child has presented in front of their peers multiple times this year, I am sure they will be nervous in front of others but your child will have your support and encouragement to carry them through.

PLEASE make sure your child has a notebook as a journal for their project as well. This was addressed back in January, and it is REQUIRED.

SCIENCE FAIR
ATTENTION PARENTS! Information about your child's Science Project will be going home soon. Please keep your eyes open for this information. Yes, ALL the students in my class are REQUIRED to participate in the Science Fair, and the project. This is 60% of their grade in the 3rd nine weeks. PLEASE LOOK FOR THE INFORMATION COMING SOON!
Welcome Back from Winter Break!
Wow! Every student returned their "winter break assignment". I am so PROUD of them for turning them in to me! I was disappointed to notice that a few students didn't finish ALL of their work, which means that they didn't take the 300 points seriously towards their Reading grade. This CAN hurt their original score.
Parents, please make sure that your child completes ALL assignments given to them, even if it is over any break time.
